If you’re looking for something with a touch of luxury and fun to do with your family or girlfriends and break the monotony of Covid19 days, and weeks, switch things up and go for an Autumn themed picnic! Just because we’re spending way more time at home these days (due to the global pandemic), doesn’t mean we have to skip every Autumn activity or family tradition we once loved.
Fall is when we start to think intentionally about bringing people back together and re-centering everyone and everything with gratitude. So it totally makes sense to add picnics to your Fall list with the people you love the most! Summer picnics tend to steal all the glory, but as autumn-loving Texans, we prefer this colorful season for picnics. Crisper air, less risk of heat stroke, memory-making moments, with a tea party style picnic in the park.

With the hustle of life and how stressed and busy we are day to day, it’s always important to just slow down, take a break and enjoy the moments. Sometimes just being able to relax and focus on family or girlfriends without having to think about school, dinner, everyone’s mental health is the best way to bond. With a little organization, preparation and creativity – it’s possible to still enjoy some of your favorite fall family activities.
As much as I love impromptu backyard picnics, I equally love luxury fall picnics where I don’t have to do the hard work of set up and clean up afterwards. Recently, we decided to celebrate the season with a special Autumn picnic. With the help of Dallas Tea Garden our usual weekend local hikes got an upgrade and we are so glad we did it. I didn’t have to worry about the setting up, or pack picnic blankets, utensils, etc.

The setup was gorgeous, the hors de’oeuvres delicious, and the company fabulous of course. The picnic table was cozy with lots of cushions perfect for my daughter to get lost in a book. The gorgeous flowers, lanterns and candles was delightful and perfect for the season. The setup was so charming that my husband kept saying such picnic would be an awesome date idea (obviously, my daughter didn’t like it as she wants to tag along with mom and dad for all picnics).
Due to Covid19, we decided to pack our own picnic food but you can ask to include food in your package. I made quick cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, Hummus and feta sandwich and bite size white chocolate pumpkin mousse tart. My husband picked up orange cranberry scones, vanilla and chocolate macaron from Trader Joe’s and we were all set. We sipped away warm apple cider while enjoying a relaxing afternoon.
Cozy Fall picnics are also a great idea to gather some girl friends or celebrate Friendsgiving. There’s really no cozier time than Autumn to gather around a pretty table set up with gorgeous blooms, sip warm apple cider and get your party on with your best girlfriends.
