This mini chicken burgers are perfect for family dinner or take it to a get-together. They are packed with flavor in every bite and kid approved.
Make this easy slider recipe for weeknight dinner or your next weekend brunch. You can use chicken, beef or lamb. I usually use chicken. Enjoy the juicy mini chicken burgers with a side of salad, roasted veggies or as is.
Chicken Sliders Recipe
- 2 lbs lean ground chicken
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2-3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp chopped cilantro
- 1 large yellow onion, sliced into rings
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 12 Hawaiian rolls or other dinner rolls
- 2-3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 8 oz diced mushroom (optional)
- 1 tsp chopped garlic (optional)
- ½ tsp chopped cilantro for garnish
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Prepare the Burger Patty
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- In a medium sized square bowl mix the ground meat and all the spices from salt to chopped cilantro.
- Press meat mixture evenly in the 9-inch by 13-inch pan
- Place in the oven and bake for 22 minutes.
- Then broil for 3-5 minutes
- Remove from oven. Depending on the meat, if there is any access water, discard the water.
- Cook the caramelized onion and mushroom
- While meat is cooking, make the caramelized onion and mushroom.
- Add olive oil in heated skillet. Place onion slices in the skillet in medium-high heat. Cook until onions are translucent.
- Add the vinegar, sugar, and salt and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes to caramelize the onions.
- Set aside the onion.
- Saute the mushroom in the same pan for 3-4minutes in med-high heat. When cooked, season with salt.
- Assemble the mini burgers
- Slice the rolls in half and place bottom half in the pan
- Spread mayonnaise over the rolls in the pan.
- Place the hot meat over the mayonnaise.
- Spread and layer the caramelized onions, mushrooms and cheese.
- Place the top of the rolls back on.
- Brush mix of butter, chopped garlic and cilantro over the top.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Place in the oven for 6-8 minutes or until tops are slightly browned and cheese is melted.
