Give each other gifts, and you will love each other.
– Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)
Giving gifts is a sunnah. Exchanging gifts that strengthen the bonds are the treasures of this life. A beautiful DIY “stuffed lantern” lights up hearts as they are exchanged between family, friends and neighbors.
We love stuffing these lanterns (available here) with dates and give to neighbors, coworkers, teachers and take them as hostess gift at iftar parties during Ramadan. You can also stuff the lanterns with cookies, chocolate dates, candies or something else the recipient loves.
Materials needed :
- Dates (or something else the recipient loves)
- Gift bags
- Tape
- Lanterns
- Ribbon
- Gift tag or printable (optional)
Steps:
- Fill goodie bags with dates and close with tape
- Insert the date bag in the lantern
- Add a gift tag with a decorative ribbon in the lantern handle
Whatever the occasion, be it for Ramadan, Eid, a housewarming, an iftar party these thoughtful and creative lanterns filled with goodies are sure to delight the recipients.
Here’s a quick video of how to make the lantern gift.
