“The believers are but a single brotherhood.”
[Al-Hujurat, 49:10]
In the world of so much divisions, it is vital that we teach our children about unity, harmonious living and anti-racist and anti-prejudicial way of life. Hajj, the 5th pillar of Islam, is a powerful symbol of unity in our divided world. Regardless of one’s financial status, beauty, fame, education or power, Hajj unites Muslims of diverse backgrounds, of all shades and races dressed alike in the simplest attire, shoulder to shoulder worshiping their Creator. No difference between the rich and the poor, men and women, Arabs and non-Arabs, blacks and whites. All of them are the same, humble and submissive.
Use this Hajj art project to teach your children about tolerance, coexistence and unity. Use different colors to portray different cultural background, races, colors of skin and teach how we are all one human race created by Allah swt. Draw unity in diversity and find beauty in the variety of differences. We have included the template that kids can color in the surrounding as well.
